Welcome to Shedgirl. We seek to publish and promote 'extended bangers,' or compelling short fiction in the range of 1200 to 2400 words, not quite 'flash' though not exactly a 'long form' story. We do not consider poetry or CNF. We hope to open submissions in early September. Once we begin publishing, likely in mid-October, we will feature one story per week accompanied by a brief interview with the author. The editor of Shedgirl is Avee Chaudhuri, a former fiction editor at Prairie Schooner. Its deputy editor is Sergio Brito, a writer and construction worker based in Los Angeles. Simultaneous submissions are welcome, though multiple submissions are not. Please expect to hear back in 2-4 weeks. More details forthcoming in late August.
